What is DNS Propagation?

DNS propagation is the process by which the Domain Name System or DNS updates and distributes information across all DNS servers worldwide.

When changes are made to your domain DNS settings, such as updating the IP address, these changes need to be propagated to all DNS servers globally.

This process can take anywhere from a few minutes to 48 hours to complete, during which time some users may see the old DNS information while others see the updated information.
