How to Set a Vacation Email Message in DirectAdmin?

Setting a vacation email message (auto-responder) in DirectAdmin is a straightforward process. Here s how you can do it: Here is a Step-by-Step Guide:

Log in to DirectAdmin:

  • Open your web browser and navigate to your DirectAdmin login page.
  • Enter your username and password to log in.

Navigate to the Email Accounts Section:

  • From the main dashboard, go to "User Level" if you re not already there.
  • Click on "E-Mail Accounts" under the "E-Mail Management" section.

Select the Email Account:

  • You will see a list of email accounts associated with your domain. Find the email account for which you want to set a vacation message.
  • Click on the "Auto-Responder" link next to the email account.

Create a New Auto-Responder:

  • On the Auto-Responder page, click on the "Create Auto-Responder" button.

Configure the Auto-Responder:

Fill in the required fields:

  • Responder Address: The email address for which the vacation message is being set.
  • Responder Message: The body of the message that will be sent to anyone who emails this address.
  • Subject: The subject line of the auto-response email.
  • Send a response to each unique email address only once: Check this option if you don t want to send multiple responses to the same email address.
  • From: Optionally, specify the "From" name and email address.
  • Reply to: Optionally, specify the "Reply to" email address.
  • Vacation Start Time and End Time: Set the start and end dates for the vacation message if applicable.

Save the Auto-Responder:

  • After filling in all the necessary details, click on the "Create" or "Save" button to activate the auto-responder.

Verify the Auto-Responder:

  • It s a good idea to test the auto-responder by sending an email to the account to ensure it s working as expected.

  • Modify or Delete Auto-Responder: If you need to make changes or delete the auto-responder, return to the "Auto-Responder" section for the email account and edit or remove the existing auto-responder.
