If you have an SSL certificate from Hosteasy and need to install it on another hosting provider, follow these steps:
Step 1: Check Your SSL Certificate Status in Hosteasy
Log in to Your Hosteasy Client Account.
Navigate to Orders -> My Invoices -> Choose the SSL Invoice.
Locate your SSL certificate status on your billing details.
Understanding SSL Status Updates
(1) CSR Certificate Creation Phase:
Click on Status 1 to open a dialog box.
Fill in the necessary details and Click Generate.
This will move the status to Status 2.
(2) Waiting for Enrollment:
This is an automated process, and the status will change to Status 3 once complete.
(3) Pending Verification:
Click on Status 3 to find a .txt file required for verification.
Download and upload this file to your hosting server.
Step 2: Upload the Verification File to Your Hosting Server
Log in to your hosting control panel (cPanel/Plesk or other).
Navigate to SSL/TLS Settings and select Upload a Third-Party Certificate.
Upload the .txt verification file to the following directory:
For cPanel users: /home/domainname/public_html/.well-known/pki-validation/your-verification-file.txt
For Plesk users: /inetpub/vhosts/domainname/httpdocs/.well-known/pki-validation/your-verification-file.txt
Confirm the files existence by visiting:
https://yourdomain.com/.well-known/pki-validation/your-verification-file.txt
Once verified, the SSL status will update automatically.
Step 3: Install SSL Certificate on Your Hosting
Once the SSL certificate is successfully generated (Status 4)
Step 4: Verify & Enable HTTPS on Your Website
Visit your website using https://yourdomain.com to check if SSL is active.
Use an SSL checker tool like SSL Checker to confirm proper installation.
In your hosting settings, enable Force HTTPS to ensure a secure connection.
If you are a Plesk user Redirect visitors from HTTP to HTTPS via a SEO friendly 301 redirect

If your website does not redirect to HTTPS even after activation, contact support@hosteasy.com for assistance.
